At Bright Wings Pediatrics, Jordan leads a clinic dedicated to supporting children with sensory needs, offering engaging, sensory-rich environments and activities that help kids thrive in daily life. By addressing underlying sensory challenges, the clinic helps children participate more fully at home, at school, and in the community, promoting growth, independence, and joyful engagement in all areas of life.
Our Services
-
A comprehensive occupational therapy assessment will explore how your child responds to sensory information, moves and plans actions, and uses visual and motor skills. Services include play-based observation, caregiver input, and standardized assessments when appropriate to understand your child’s unique profile and support participation in everyday activities at home, school, and in the community.
-
Treatment Sessions are play-based and child-led, using individualized activities to support motor skills, coordination, self-regulation, and active participation. Sessions are designed to help children build skills and succeed in everyday activities at home, school, and in the community.
-
An occupational therapy consultation allows families to discuss concerns, strengths, and questions about their child’s development and participation. It may include a brief history and observation of play or functional activities. The goal is to provide general guidance and consultation to help determine whether an occupational therapy (OT) evaluation is needed. When appropriate, Bright Wing Pediatrics Clinic is able to proceed with comprehensive evaluations and provide individualized treatment and support.
Learning and Resources
-
Children learn and develop best through play and everyday routines. Pediatric occupational therapy uses these meaningful activities to help children build skills such as coordination, self-regulation, motor planning, and independence, so they can participate more successfully in daily life.
-
Sensory integration is how the brain takes in and organizes information from the senses including touch, movement, sound, sight, smell, and body awareness so a child can respond to their environment in a way that feels organized and meaningful. This supports regulation, motor planning (praxis), body control, learning, and participation in everyday activities.
-
Occupational therapy helps children build on their strengths and develop skills for:
Sensory integration (how the brain organizes information from movement, touch, sound, sight, and body awareness)
Regulation and attention
Transitions and daily routines
Self-care and independence
Fine motor and visual-motor skills
Motor planning, gross motor coordination, balance, and body awareness
Play, social participation, and relationships
Participation in meaningful activities at home, school, and in the community
